« The sun, architecture, music and dance: Marseille is also a feeling of freedom for me
Very strong. I drew inspiration from the codes of life, daily life and everything that invites the movement. The
sea and wind blown away the idea of diverting the look of diving suits », explains
Virginie Viard.
The pressure-button diving hoods thus invite in the directory of the House, and in
first place on the jacket of an anis green CHANEL tailor, or on the collar of dresses evoking those of years
1960. By pulling the thread of her underwater dreaming, Virginie Viard drives her Cruise collection into a
exploration of the depths: embroidery of small love fish, fishing nets, shells and
crustaceans populate dresses, tailor jackets, vests, blouses, t-shirts and small marcels.
On the surface, silver reflections of the sun, wavelets and undulations of lines and shapes revive the
souvenirs spent by swimming pools. They dress the neoprene effect of jerseys, tweeds,
glitter jackets, when other tweeds and jerseys take over the colours, the
gridding or geometrical shapes of the facades of the surrounding houses, on a long dress,
tunics or even embroidered pockets.
In addition to its hood and pressure buttons, the collection revisits the sweater markers and offers them
its own muslin version printed with fish. Her kangaroo pocket wins a sleeveless and hooded tile dress or a sheath dress. Pantacourt embroidered gall jogging, tweed cycling, teddy oversize, complete a collection that embraces the dynamics of the movement. The same wind of freedom also blows on a white skirt with flounces and a fur coat embroidered with flowers.
Bathsuits, too. Bloomer, panties, dress open to the side, the collection is
d
English embroidery scale or patchworks. Feet, sponge flip-flops with compensated soles.
White or black-and-white stencils and black varnished shoes highlight the
Male borrowings. Sets of superpositions also travel this collection: collars of
shirt, musket wrists, jackets invite on or under jackets and sets. The little one
Black dress is here revisited: the buster part is in jersey with straps and the top of a jersey
bath embroidered with small flowers.
« Marseille is a city that puts me in touch with my emotions. I tried to grasp his strength
breath, to transcribe the energy that reigns there. And we couldn't dream better than the City
radiant for a parade. »
