Dior House Launches « Make My Own Table », a service allowing its customers to customize plates, cups and sugar makers in the colors of two of its iconic patterns. An initiative that illustrates the rise of the luxury segment of the table arts.

If we knew the customization options put in place by Dior for its bags, sneakers and accessories, the House now extends the scope of the possibilities with « Make My Own Table », a device allowing its customers to choose the color and pattern affixed to porcelain dishes of Limoges.

For this new offer, the House has retained two iconic prints: the Cannage, inspired by the Napoleon III chairs present in the historical salons of 30 Montaigne, and the Toile de Jouy, adopted by Christian Dior himself in 1947 and revisited by Maria Grazia Chiuri. These signature designs can be displayed in a range of 35 colours ranging from poppy red to azure blue to powdery pink or grass green.

Available in a selection of Dior outlets, the service « Make My Own Table »is part of a broader dynamic where the utility object is increasingly asserting itself as a vector of identity and distinction. To encourage large houses to boost their investments in the sector by capitalising on their brand DNA and on the excellence of French expertise in porcelain work, glassware or silverware. Hermès, for example, recently announced the construction of a new 13 000 m2 factory in Upper Vienna to strengthen its production capacity.

While the figures for the table arts market vary according to the sources and segments, the experts agree on an annual growth rate of between +4.5% and +6% over the period 2024-2030, fuelled by the increase in usage, the development of hotel-restoration prestige and the digitalisation of supply.
