Taking life thanks to the bright red lacquer, the fiery horse that animates the dial symbolizes independence, power and adventure spirit, characteristics associated with the seventh animal of the Chinese zodiac. Honouring the richness of Chinese traditions and enhanced by the refined brilliance of the purest Harry Winston diamonds, this tribute to the Year of the Horse comes in the form of an edition limited to eight lucky timepieces. Continuing a tradition established in 2016, Harry Winston House celebrates Chinese New Year with a timepiece inspired by one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. In 2026 the Year of the Horse, the seventh animal of the Chinese lunar calendar, will begin, a symbol ubiquitous in Chinese culture.

For centuries, the horse has been a venerated animal for its speed, endurance, passion and strength. A galloping messenger at the speed of lightning to bring prosperity and luck, the horse is the symbol par excellence of freedom. According to the belief, people born the year of the horse would be brave, dynamic, adventurous and loyal. On the dial stands a remarkable three-dimensional pattern, all in shades of red and gold. A flagship duet of Chinese New Year celebrations, great events and weddings, red and gold are the best performing colors, auguring joy and prosperity for the coming year.

THE HEARTS

The splendid representation of a flamboyant red horse, immortalized in a triumphant pose, occupies the front of the stage. Standing on his back legs, his front legs defending the air, the horse, loving with a wind of freedom, untied from all earthly attachments to gallop towards a heavenly adventure.

Both powerful and graceful, the figure of the horse is applied to the dial, its body embellished with red lacquer, applied to the hand. The curved surfaces add volume and exalt the sculptural body of the horse, while the red lacquer details contrast with the yellow and orange lacquered mane that an invisible breeze seems to float in the wind.

At the base of the dial, the swirling clouds are hand made in mother-of-pearl marquetry, a refined and delicate technique consisting of cutting and inserting tiny pieces of mother-of-pearl between the contours of the pattern. In Chinese culture, clouds symbolize luck and establish a direct link between heaven and earth. On this artistic representation, the horse leaves the terrestrial world and gallops through a mother-of-pearl sky in which three-dimensional stars and cabochons sparkle, to reach the most intense celestial lights, represented by eight marquise-cut diamonds.

Served on a red mother-of-pearl arch forming a horseshoe, the sparkling marquise-cut diamonds mark the hours, their size growing as they reach the bottom of the dial and its clouds with iridescent whiteness. Signature of the House and wink at Mr. Winston's favorite size for gemstones, the splendid emerald cut diamond embellishes the dial of his grace at 6 o'clock.

A BOX ALL IN ELEGANCE

Having made its very first appearance in 2024, the delicate Harry Winston Moments box fits perfectly with the new timepiece dedicated to Chinese New Year. Radiating warm reflections of 18-carat pink gold, the round box has a compact diameter of 36 mm and a thickness of only 9.15 mm. This Harry Winston Moments box is distinguished by the position of its superb crown, at noon, decorated with a white pearl with iridescent brilliance, another symbol of wisdom, purity and prosperity. Two gold rings, set with 118 brilliant cut diamonds, circle the dial and stretch majestically towards the crown. The union of the two rings is marked by two graceful arcades, set with diamonds, framing the crown and its pearl.

A SELF-MATIC MOVEMENT THE MOST SophisticATED

To delight mechanical movement enthusiasts, the timepiece is equipped with a high-end Swiss automatic movement containing a generous power reserve of 40 hours. Visible through the bottom of the sapphire ice box, the movement is delicately decorated with Côtes de Genève and circular beading, the finishes of which are hand made. The incorporation of a flat coil made of silicon resistant to magnetic fields and corrosion, while being less sensitive to shocks, guarantees years of seamless operation.

EIGHT, THE BACKGROUND

Since the eight are considered to be the figure of happiness par excellence in Chinese culture, the Chinese New Year Automatic collection naturally comes in the form of a limited edition of eight copies. Placing on a shiny red d-alligator leather strap, this timepiece is attached to the wrist thanks to a pink gold ardillon buckle set with 33 brilliant cut diamonds. The small cut on the leather strap protects the large pearl and allows easy access to the crown to adjust the hour.

This timepiece celebrating the Year of the Horse is loved in a red box that recalls the octagonal shape of a Chinese temple and features a decor made of golden clouds and a galloped horse.
