It is the expression of the intimate dialogue between Christian Dior and perfumes, initiated from the beginning of his home. This revolutionary Dior spirit gives us the legacy of a rich and inspiring history that allows this perfect alchemy between tradition and audacity, as he had called of his wishes Christian Dior.
Each of the new creations I wear for The Private Collection explores the history of our House, its imaginary, its values and the codes of its heritage transposed in our time. Its abundant universe offers itself as a playground with infinite possibilities, inviting me to seek in my own identity and emotions inspiring mirror games. Creating a fragrance for the Private Collection requires in the first place to define its line, to consider it as the architecture of a garment that echoes its olfactory structure then, to play with the constraint of raw materials as one uses the sense of fabrics.
In other words, it is necessary to appropriate the olfactory material to compose a fragrance according to its idea, like a designer appropriates the fabric to give it a precise, exact volume. Perfect. It is at the heart of this rigorous construction that sensitive and contrasting olfactory stories come to express and flourish. Love nature and flowers, keep an insatiable curiosity to discover the world, be in love with life and his pleasures as a convinced hedonist while remaining a superstitious incorrigible are all traits of character that bring me closer to Christian Dior. They determine me as they irrigate Dior's creative spirit more than ever. These common passions are now the creative foundation of my history with Dior and especially of my compositions for the Private Collection that pay tribute to the soul of this House. The one of a man who dreamed of her dresses like her perfumes. A designer as much couturier-perfumer, as perfumer-couturier.
PRIVATE COLLECTION REINVENTS THE CRAFT ART
The scented candles of the Private Collection pay tribute to the emblematic addresses of the House, expressing the richness of the art of living and the hedonism so dear to Christian Dior. This year, their new design revisits the godron, an iconic aesthetic of the Private Collection, and dresses with a deep black glass, contrasting with a label with a sewed seam that recalls the touch of a fabric. A modern and sleek silhouette making these new candles real objects of desire to collect with the envi.
CUTTING CUT TO SIGN AN INTERIOR IN DIOR
The black lacquered glass base of the candle is removable and can give way to a base adorned with the House's iconic sewing motifs: the historical hen foot, the classic canning, the emblematic canvas of Jouy or the incontourable oblique monogram available in fabric or leather. A new sewing touch to perfect the style of your scented atmospheres.
NEW OLFACTIONS
For an immersion in the Dior's heritage, the candles of La Collection Privée are available in a range of eleven signature fragrances including the iconic 30 Montaigne, Saint Honoré, Eden-Roc or Jardin d'Orangers. Two new fragrances are added this year to the collection: Milly-la-Forêt and Château La Colle Noire, evoking the olfactory atmosphere of two places dear to the designer-perfumer.
In Milly-la-Forêt, Christian Dior retired to his mill to escape the Parisian hustle and bustle and find inspiration. He particularly enjoyed walking in the underwoods of this unique estate, which each spring was embalmed by the muguet flower. The candle « Milly-la-Forêt » pays tribute to this setting of spring greenery and invites you to a gentle olfactory walk in the shade of majestic trees and in the heart of a garden in full bloom.
Located in the heart of the Pays de Fayence, not far from Grasse, the Château de La Colle Noire was for Christian Dior a refuge of choice, a real haven of peace where nature was queen. The candle « Château La Colle Noire » inspired by the cypress alley leading to the castle as well as the rose of Mai which flourishes generously in its gardens. Its harmonious accord of woody and floral scents revives all the sweetness of this unique Provencal setting.
EXCEPTION
Made in France by Maîtres Ciriers, the wax of candles from La Collection Privée has been reformulated, in a harmonious camaïeu of whites and beiges. Composed of vegetable and mineral waxes, the quality of this wax guarantees a longer burning time, between 40 and 50 hours, as well as an optimal diffusion of the perfume, revealing all the subtleties of its chords.
THE CRAFT ART: A RITUAL EXCEPTION
The most beautiful objects deserve the greatest attention. The Private Collection thus celebrates the Art of Burning by creating a set of accessories to perfect the use of its candles. In a silver metallic finish, the glitter and the wick cut in turn revisit the iconic Godron of The Collection, allowing to extend the use of each candle. To these two essentials, add a new black lacquered lid, sublimated by Christian Dior's silver and relief initials. It protects the wax and the wake of the candle while harmoniously aligning with its design.
