Adopted at all times of the day, this flagship of malletier know-how was named in tribute to the very first store opened by Louis Vuitton, rue Neuve des Capucines, in Paris. With its iconic signature, however, it continues to reinvent itself, reaffirming this season its promises of modernity and craftsmanship at most perfect.
With its removable chain in gold metal braided leather, cut in a beautiful taurillon leather and offered in sizes BB or Mini, the Capucines assumes this summer ultra-vitamin shades: Orange Tonic lined with Rose Jasmin or Green Apple softened from Lavender. At the end of the arm or shoulder strap, it allows all style fantasies.
Two exceptional models extend this collection: a first, available in Mini version, sees its cream leather completely embroidered with green, for a braiding effect whose textured surface, as in three dimensions, required more than 68,000 embroidery stitches.
The second model is just as delicate: the Capucines' white leather was perforated and then embroidered with Monogram flowers, in order to recreate an English embroidery pattern, as a delighting echo to Nicolas Ghesquière's ready-to-wear collection, and its immaculate cotton silhouettes.
Available in two sizes for two essential shades (Blue Nuit and Rose Jasmin), the Capucines imposes an unprecedented know-how: its handle, like the letters LV at the front of the bag, were made using the same technique as that used by Murano glass blowers. Captured in the resin, the different colours were mixed before being hot shaped according to the desired shape. Only the best artisans could realize this delicate and organic handle, whose shades reveal themselves differently depending on the light.

Finally, here is the Rue des Capucines model: it dresses this season of natural canvas, whose timeless chic is enhanced by garnishes in black or brown taurillon, in its MM version, or Yellow Plume color, for the BB version. The leather adorns the flap and handle, as well as the back of the shoulder strap, embroidered with Monogram flowers and words « 4 rue des Capucines » : no less than four hours of work, and more than 100,000 stitches, are necessary for the realization of this single element, in the Louis Vuitton workshops.
Worn by Miranda Kerr's solar beauty, the campaign was carried out in the unique light of Los Angeles: from the tennis court to the spotlights of California night, the model appropriates the Capucines under all his seams before transmitting it, at the end of the film, to a new muse, for a new season... and thus weave the story of this iconic bag of Louis Vuitton.
