From 9 October to 5 November 2025, Saint Laurent Rive Droite Paris presents a selection of works by American artist Maximilian Schubert, under the precinct of Anthony Vaccarello.
Maximilian Schubert's work is often on the border between painting and sculpture. The « canvases » Lights that make up Untitled (Dissolution), (2025- ), its new series, are urethane casting resin objects – paint and sculpture hybrids that refuse to melt one into the other. Using the ancient technique of glacis, where thin layers of paint give colour, depth and brightness to a surface, Schubert creates works entirely composed of successive layers of translucent polyurethane cast.
The exhibition, entitled Dissolutions, echoes Schubert's personal exhibition in New York, which will open on September 17 at the Off Paradise gallery, of the same name. Schubert considers this Parisian presentation as a complement to the New York exhibition. Sharing the same title and conceptual spirit, the two exhibitions will take place simultaneously on two continents.
Schubert's works are featured in private and corporate collections in the United States and Europe, including the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection. Schubert lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, and is represented by Off Paradise, New York.
A selection of works will be offered for sale.
