Saint Laurent will be the official patron of the exhibition « i need to live » de Juergen Teller at the Grand Palais Ephemere in Paris from 16 December 2023 to 9 January 2024.
This exhibition, organized by the Meeting of National Museums – Grand Palais, with the support of Saint Laurent d'Anthony Vaccarello, traces and exhibits numerous personal and commissioned works of Teller, immediately recognizable images, new photographic series, as well as videos and installations.

Juergen Teller is the icon of a very small group of internationally renowned photographers, highly appreciated in the field of commercial photography and contemporary art. He is particularly known for his frank portraits of celebrities, such as Yves Saint Laurent Paris 2000 © Juergen Teller, his provocative fashion editorials and his iconic campaigns for various creators, such as Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent. Over the past five years, Teller has worked with his wife, Dovile Drizyte, on joint projects that reflect various aspects of their relationship, marriage and parental role. These works are made by characters often tinted with humour and created in a grotesque style.
Juergen Teller is the author of more than forty artist's books, produced in collaboration with Gerhard Steidl de Steidl Verlag, Göttingen, over the last twenty years. A wide selection of these books will be presented at the exhibition, alongside other publications, magazines and printed media, revealing the cultural context in which Juergen Teller's work is based. After Paris, the exhibition will be presented at the Milan Triennale in the spring of 2024.
As part of the exhibition, Anthony Vaccarello and Juergen Teller collaborated in a unique lifestyle collection including home items, decorative objects, clothing, accessories and vinyl, each illustrated with an artist's photograph. Juergen Teller has also selected key magazines that will be presented in a dedicated cultural space.
