FIFA officially unveiled the trophy of its new World Cup Clubs, a tournament that will mark a revolutionary stage in the history of football.
Scheduled for its first edition from June 15 to July 13, 2025, this competition will bring together 32 teams from around the world and will take place in 12 stadiums in 11 American cities. The grand finale will be held at the MetLife Stadium in New York, where the first world champion club will brand this iconic trophy.
Designed in collaboration with Tiffany & Co., the trophy is a true artistic and technical feat. Plated in 24 carat gold, it stands out for its innovative shape, capable of changing from a gold shield to a multifaceted orbital structure, accentuating its impressive visual dimension. Laser-burned, it features ornaments rich in symbols: a world map, the names of the 211 FIFA member associations and representations of stadiums, equipment and maps. These details pay tribute to the diversity and history of football while embodying its future.
Inclusiveness and accessibility are also highlighted with inscriptions engraved in 13 languages and Braille. Inspired by elements such as Voyager's famous gold record, the periodic table and the stories of the first explorers, the trophy also reflects key moments in history: the founding of FIFA on May 21, 1904 and the first game of this new tournament, scheduled for June 15, 2025 in Miami.
Anthony Ledru, CEO of Tiffany & Co. added: « Over the course of its 160-year existence, Tiffany & Co. has developed some of the most famous sporting trophies in history, marking this particular art with its imprint. The FIFA World Cup trophy is fully part of this legacy at the service of sports exploits. »
Each edition of the tournament will give the winning club an exact replica of the trophy, engraved with the team's coat of arms and the names of the previous champions. The official presentation of this unique object to the world audience will take place on December 5, 2024 in Miami, during the draw of the championship.
The trophy, with its exalting motto: « To those who raise this trophy: history belongs to you! », marks the beginning of a new era for club football and an ultimate achievement for the players who will win it.
